A world – class university in the making, we have always looked to set the benchmark not just in academics but in extracurricular activities as well. We strive to produce lawyers who measure up to the huge expectations that people of this country have from its lawyers.
Law school has two functions, firstly, training students in case method of instruction so that they may become successful practitioners in their chosen profession. Secondly, to aid in improving the law by scientific and analytical study of existing laws by comparative jurisprudence with suggestions for improvement in the administration of law and relating law to other institutions of human society. It is the duty of a law school to emphasize through research and publication by its faculty and through the character of its instruction, this broader base of legal education, apart from imparting merely professional training.
NLU, Delhi curriculum inculcates in the students critical and analytical thinking towards the issues of Contemporary concern. NLUD offers 40 core subjects and apart from that, 50 additional elective courses that students can choose from keeping in mind the need of the future and their own expectation from them. The students are always challenged to strive for excellence, and the university is always present to help them frame their individual opinion and help them have their voice heard.
Apart from the academics, NLUD has a vibrant atmosphere, where students have always had the chance to showcase their exceptional talent in moots or sports and other cultural activities. Our students have done exceptionally well in all events that they have visited and have made NLU Delhi a Law University to reckon with.
A university is only as good as its students, and the students of NLUD have gained experience through internships with some of the biggest corporate firms and lawyers, as well as national and international NGO’s which provides vital experience to students and information to choose what is best suited to them and excel. NLUD always promotes its students for internships and therefore permits students to intern for three months a year so as to gain the much needed practical exposure.
I sincerely believe that this approach of our University, to strive for academic excellence yet maintaining high standards in all extra-curricular activities has significantly contributed to diverse knowledge of our students. We are committed to the mandate of preparing the next generation of leaders with the strongest professional ethics.
